About this PreSchool

Discovery offers a developmentally appropriate, inclusive, educational curriculum. Teachers plan a daily schedule of activities designed to enhance the social, cognitive, and physical development of the children.

They create a safe, child-centered environment where children are free to learn and explore. Every effort is made by the teachers to ensure that children will experience nurturing care in a stimulating, enriching atmosphere. At appropriate ages, field trips, and special guests will be incorporated into daily activities.

Trained teachers provide high quality care. Teachers have a Bachelor's Degree, Associate's degree or Child Development Associate Degree (CDA) in education, child development and/or a related field and/or experience. They all attend at least 24 hours of professional development each year keeping them current in the latest research, practices and philosophies in early childhood education and child care.

By enrolling your child in a high quality pre-kindergarten, your child has a better chance of being ready for kindergarten and grade school. This strong early start in pre-kindergarten means they have a better chance of doing well in school, going on to college or career training, and getting a good job.

All Discovery Center Pre-K classrooms:

• have teachers with the education and expertise to teach young children


• use a curriculum that will help your child grow, academically and socially


• have learning centers addressing all areas of development


• regularly review your child's progress and choose teaching and learning activities that are best for your child


• help you and your child adjust to pre-kindergarten and smoothly move on to kindergarten


• offer a small class size so that your child can have plenty of one-on-one time with the teachers
